Normally held on the first Monday of every month from September to June, these meetings have an educational focus and are intended of interest to all experienced woodturners - from beginner to advanced. (Note: when the first Monday is a Public Holiday the meeting takes place on the second Monday of the month.) They also offer time for networking and social interaction.

General Meetings include four components:

  • Show & Tell Table: Members are encouraged to bring in their current  projects and share experiences and what they have learned - a great opportunity for exchange, acknowledgement and encouragement.

  • Wood Turning Demo: The Guild hosts experienced demonstrators who show their projects, techniques, and methods, and answer questions from the audience. Our experienced videographers capture up-close details and project them on screen so you don't miss a thing. There are no bad seats in the shop.

  • Raffle table: Come to a TWG meeting and you will see a cornucopia of wood that could be yours for the purchase of a raffle ticket. We are very fortunate to have the support of Brent Ferris, a professional arborist, who regularly brings in a truckload of wood that we raffle off in support of the Guild's activities. Raffle tickets are three for only $5.00! It's a great way to support the Guild and bring home some wood for your turning projects.

  • Lending Library: Members have access to borrow from our extensive collection of woodturning books and videos. For more information, go to the Library page.
